East Greenwich, RI Incorporated in 1677 East Greenwich, or Green Town, was named after Greenwich County of Kent, England. Located on the western shore of Narragansett Bay, East Greenwich is bounded on the southwest by Exeter, the west by West Greenwich, the south by North Kingstown, the southeast by Potowomut and on the north by Warwick, West Warwick, and Coventry. This is Skips hometown and the permenant location for Wind on the Bay.

 

 

Healy Flute Studio

Healy Flute Company WorkshopSkip Healy established the Healy Fife and Flute Company in East Greenwich, Rhode Island in 1993. He specializes in the designing and building of a wide variety of wooden fifes, flutes, and piccolos. The workshop is now housed in the Varnum House Museum's Carriage House. All of Skips classes will be taught at this venue.

 

 

Varnum Memorial Armory

Varnum Memorial Armory The Varnum Continentals built their Armory in 1913 in the medieval architectural style and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The armory serves as the Varnum Continental's headquarters and contains an extensive Military & Naval Museum which has been acquired through donation and purchase. Most of Johns, Greys and Joshs' classes as well as the food services, sessions and Saturday evening concert will be at this venue.

 

 

 

Varnum House Museum

Varnum House MuseumBuilt in 1773 for General James Mitchell Varnum, this is a fine example of late 18th century Rhode Island architecture. The Varnum house is on the National Register of Historic Places and has been furnished throughout with notable pieces from the Revolutionary period. Several of the rooms were restored and furnished by individual Rhode Island familes.
